ORLANDO -- Attorney Jewel White Cole has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide nonprofit organization that funds Legal Aid, as well as programs to improve Florida’s justice system and encourage law students and young lawyers to pursue public interest careers.
An attorney with the Pinellas County Attorney’s Office, Cole practices in the areas of land use and environmental law.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Florida, and her juris doctor from the University of Florida College of Law.
Cole, who has an extensive record of pro bono work, is as a member of the Supreme Court/ Florida Bar Standing Committee on Pro Bono and participated in the discussion leading up to the publication of the 2007 report, “Pro Bono: Looking Back, Moving Forward." She is the immediate past president of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Cole has served as president of the Clearwater Bar Association and a director of the Clearwater Bar Foundation.
Cole, whose term on the board begins July 1, is also a Fellow of The Florida Bar Foundation.
