Attorney Theodore W. Small Jr. will serve on Florida Bar Foundation Board

ORLANDO — As president of Florida Legal Services, Deland attorney Theodore W. Small Jr.
will serve as a designated director on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide
charitable organization that works to expand access to justice on behalf of Florida’s legal profession.

Small earned his bachelor’s degree at Harvard University and his juris doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Small, a solo practitioner in Deland, practices employment and business litigation law. Prior to opening his practice, he was a partner with Holland & Knight, LLP, where he practiced commercial litigation and employment law in their Orlando, Tampa and Washington, D.C. offices.

As a board member of Florida Legal Services, the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service and the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter, Small is committed to law-related community service.

Small, whose term will begin July 1, is also a member of the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates and the Florida Bar’s Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee.

The Interest on Trust Accounts (IOTA) program was implemented by the Florida Supreme Court in 1981. The nation’s first IOTA program, it serves as a model for similar programs across the country and creates millions of dollars in funding for legal aid each year. Learn more.
