GEBA Mentoring Program -- Franklin Middle Magnet Pre-Law Academy
For 25 students to participate in the Bar’s Role Model Committee mentoring program to provide students exposure to the various facets of the legal profession via monthly speaker bureaus, a State Courthouse tour, law office visit tours, participation in a mock trial and debate, an essay writing competition and a Scholarship banquet.

Community Legal Education
Through a bi-monthly radio program in Creole broadcast in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties enhance public awareness about the consequences of unlicensed practice of law and how to avoid being victimized by such practices which are provided mainly in immigration, family law and foreclosure/loan modification, to educate the general public about the importance of having an attorney handle their legal affairs, and the legal resources available to them as immigrants and homeowners.

Kinship Care CLE and Mentoring Training
To provide CLE to attorneys to educate and train them to provide legal and mentoring assistance to relative caregivers. Free only if attorney agrees to take one pro bono case. Otherwise CLE fee will go back to support the program.

Funding to assist in the bar association's efforts to establish a visitation center for Nasssau county parents subject to court-ordered supervised visitation.

To produce an "electronic field trip" in collaboration with the Education Network (Palm Beach County School system) and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County to educate students and the general public about their rights and responsibilities of citizenship with focus on the judicial and corrections system.

Civics and Law in Education Program
To bring civics and law back into the educational system in Sarasota County through a magazine written by volunteer Sarasota County Bar and YLD members and distributed free to approximately 40,000 students in collaboration with Sarasota County School System and local newspaper (has donated $30,000 in production/distribution costs).

To bring professional women together to raise awareness of specific community service needs related to women/families -- a network to help address those needs. The 2009-10 program will focus on helping transition women from public support to work, but this network would serve as a permanent vehicle too raise money annually for projects.

Members will volunteer translation assistance to Spanish-speaking pro se family law litigants who attend "Family Forms Clinics" at the George Edgecomb Courthouse in Tampa.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities Jump Off: A College Recruitment Event
To plan and execute their annual Jump Off college recruiting event for high school students from Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties to learn about Florida's four historically black institutions of higher education, meet with recruiters and receive financial aid information targets primarily to minority and low income students.
