Children's Legal Services Grants Program

In the early 1990s, the Foundation began a grant program specifically to address the legal needs of children. Currently this effort provides funding to approximately 20 grantees, which include statewide programs and local service grantees.

The Foundation's priorities for its Children's Legal Services grant initiative include representation of foster care children and access to special education, as well as medical, developmental and mental health services that are required under law. Another goal is to create and energize a statewide network of children's legal services providers.

Grant applications are available in January with grant decisions contemplated in March.
